Cambrea Merriwether serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Texas Regional Bank, where she directs the full scope of the employee lifecycle — from talent acquisition and executive compensation to strategic workforce planning — across a $3B institution with operations spanning Texas and capital markets offices nationwide. A Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP), Cambrea brings more than 25 years of progressive HR leadership across the oil and gas and financial services industries, partnering with C-suite executives, boards of directors, and regional leadership teams throughout the United States and abroad.

Cambrea is a trusted advisor to TRB's Board of Directors and leads the Governance & Compensation Committee and Employee Benefits Committee, shaping the bank's approach to executive compensation, equity strategy, and organizational culture. Known for her command of both the tactical and the strategic, she is equally at home resolving complex employee relations matters as she is architecting the compensation frameworks that keep TRB competitive in attracting and retaining top talent. Cambrea holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management and Economics, with a minor in Spanish, from Purdue University, a global academic foundation that continues to inform her cross-cultural approach to leadership and workforce strategy.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Cambrea now resides in Cypress, Texas, with her husband and college sweetheart, Marshawn, and their three children, Landon, Addisyn, and Ellis. Outside the office, she is an active member of her sorority and devotes her time to family, sports, travel, and cooking.
