Marlin Brown

Marlin Brown, Director, is a Portfolio Manager for the Index Fixed Income Team (IFI) in the Americas. Mr. Brown is responsible for the management of municipal strategies. The IFI Municipal Team manages over $60 billion in assets across 16+ mandates.

Previously, Mr. Brown was a Portfolio Manager for the Customized Municipal Solutions Team within the Municipal Fixed Income business in BlackRock's Portfolio Management Group (PMG).

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2017, Mr. Brown was a Portfolio Manager at Vanguard focusing on municipal mandates across the maturity spectrum. Mr. Brown was the named Portfolio Manager on the Limited-Term Tax-Exempt Portfolio, the Massachusetts Tax-Exempt Portfolio, and the Ohio Tax-Exempt Portfolio totaling over $26.5 billion in assets. Mr. Brown also co-led the Revenue Sector Team, responsible for developing and implementing strategies across all fund mandates.

Mr. Brown earned a BS degree in finance from the University of Virginia in 1995.
