Teri Kelley, MD

Teri leads the Morgan Stanley wealth planning practice where she is responsible for client engagement with corporate executives and business owners. Her practice includes uniquely successful executives, entrepreneurs, and multi-generational families. Teri provides her clients with investment wealth planning to include employing sophisticated tax and debt strategies to help them define and reach objectives. Helping clients make educated decisions has been Teri’s passion throughout her career. She believes in forming personal relationships with her clients to help them identify and articulate their unique goals for themselves, their businesses, and their families. As a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, Teri enjoys working with families to help them develop their philanthropic goals and instill belief systems within the family.

Prior to joining Smith Barney in 2003, Teri was a product manager for a large national bank and in sales for a dog toy company. She received her M.B.A. from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and her B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst® program at Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation from the Certified Financial Planner® Board of Standards, an independent regulatory organization.

Teri serves on the national board for Women’s Leadership Alliance, an organization whose mission is to attract more women into the business of financial advice, and to support and empower them as they develop. Teri has been on various community boards and committees to include Arizona Cactus Pine Girl Scout Council, Northern Arizona Healthcare, Boys & Girls Club of Central Arizona, Lowell Observatory Foundation, Forest Highlands Foundation, McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. Her community engagement passion is for youth, education, youth sports, and the environment. Most recently, Teri was named to Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors (2021-2024), Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors (2020-2024), and Barron’s Top 1200 (2023).

A runner, cyclist and former triathlete, Teri has qualified for and raced multiple Boston Marathons, competed in five Ironman triathlons to include the elite Kona World Championship. She and her husband have two adult children, two elementary age boys and a Goldendoodle named Leia. They love spending time in Flagstaff, sand in their toes and adventure travel.
